This project illustrates the significance of the saying about conservation 'think globally - act locally'. Birds are a good indicator of environmental change and this book provides a base-line from which the fluctuating fortunes of familiar bird species in Berkshire can be measured. Accurate records of changes should also stimulate speculation about their causes.
